There was a silent auction (I didn't win anything :( ) and then they had a fashion show and auction for these DARLING princess dresses. These little models were so cute! Unfortunately I am not a pro photographer and kept snapping shots just a second too late so you can't see most of thier faces, but these dresses were so cute.

Queen Bee Tea
Today my mom and I went to the Queen Bee Tea. It was a super fun event to raise money for Mrs. Utah's Project Lemonade. Its an organization that raises money for after school programs for under privileged kids. It was held at La Caille and was the ultimate princess party! There were tons of little girls there all dressed up in super cute dresses, some in Disney Princess costumes. In addition to Mrs. Utah Emily Nelson, there was Miss Utah Kayla Barclay and the pageant winners from Sandy, Herriman, Kaysville and American Fork. We sat by Miss American Fork Kaitlin Hale. She is such a sweet and pretty girl. I didn't get pictures of all the Queens but if I can get them from the Project Lemonade site I will add them.
Mrs. Utah is such a pretty woman and she was so sweet and gracious to everyone that was there. She really looked like she was having fun!
This was Miss Utah Kayla Barclay playing the piano. She played so well and I loved watching her cause she got so into it! She was flipping her hair around and really pounding on that piano. It was awesome.

It's all about Sasha . . . deal with it.
I can't believe my little girl is already three months old!!! My pregnancy seemed to last forever but since Sasha was born time is just flying by! She is always such a happy little girl. She is smiling a lot, and is constantly kicking her legs and waving her arms around. I have to turn my camera to the rapid burst setting just so I can get a decent shot of her! She is also sitting up pretty well (with a little help) and she holds her head up really well. She gets more interactive every day and I love it when she focuses on something, whether its a face or a shape or a toy. I can almost see the wheels in her little brain turning around and around, trying to figure out what she is looking at. She definitely knows her mama and daddy. She even recognizes our voices over the phone. When I am traveling I will call Josh at night and he puts the phone on speaker so she can hear me. She usually gets a big grin on her face when I talk to her. It makes me feel so good and helps me get through the trip.
I bought her this Minnie Mouse doll in Disney last week. She loves it! I think mostly because of the strong contrasting colors, but she gets a smile on her face when I hold it up and play with her. Today I had it in the car seat with her and she kept sucking on Minnie's nose! It's just the right size to fit in her mouth . . . good thing it's attached to the rest of the doll and can't come off!
This is the cute shirt that Auntie Des made for Sasha for Christmas. It says 'Born to Shop' It looks so cute on her! And she definitely was born to shop. I took her to the mall a couple of weeks ago and she did great! I took her into the dressing room with me and she helped me pick out some new shirts. She has very good taste already, I can tell.
We went out to dinner last night as a family, it was great. I'll bet Whitney can guess where we went . . . . CHARLIE CHOW'S!!! I LOVE Charlie Chow's! The food is always so good and the service is awesome, too. Sasha liked it too, she was flirting with our waiter. Too bad she's only three months old and too bad he was gay, lol! :)
I feel like such a lucky woman. I have a great husband who works hard for our family. I have a good job (even though I don't like it, at least I have one) and I have the most beautiful daughter. I'm also lucky to have so much family close by to help us out with whatever we need whenever we need it. I live in a great neighborhood with wonderful neighbors that are all just really great people. I have a really great life and I am thankful every day for it.

Silly Google
Here's a fun little game if you ever get bored. I did a variation of this a while back. It's interesting when you share your name with a celebrity.
Q: Type in "[your name] needs" in the Google search.
A: Skinny Lindsay needs some food
Q: Type in "[your name] looks like" in Google search.
A: So that's what Lindsay looks like without the mystic tan
Q: Type in "[your name] says" in Google search.
A: Lindsay says its her hectic life, not Sam, causing her stress (But I am a SAM- strategic account manager- and that is causing all my stress!!!)
Q: Type in "[your name] wants" in Google search.
A: Lindsay wants to marry lesbian lover. (Oh geez)
Q: Type in "[your name] does" in Google search.
A: Lindsay does 'Ugly Betty'
Q: Type in "[your name] hates" in Google search.
A: Lindsay hates myspace
Q: Type in "[your name] asks" in Google search.
A: Camera shy Lindsay asks for deposition blackout
Q: Type in "[your name] likes " in Google search.
A: Lindsay likes it naked. (this is what I get for sharing my name with a crazy celebrity. Thanks mom.)
Q: Type in "[your name] eats " in Google search.
A: Lindsay eats hand sanitizer. (Ewww gross)
Q: Type in "[your name] wears " in Google search.
A: Lindsay wears leggings when she's uncomfortable with her body
Q: Type in "[your name] was arrested for" in Google Search.
A: Lindsay was arrested for DUI, drugs (hey, the only laws I break are speed limits!)
Q: Type in "[your name] loves" in Google Search.
A: Lindsay loves leggings
Kind of interesting . . . see what Google has to say about you!

Here we go again . . .
Another trip starts tonight. Ugh. Today was a completely crazy and hectic day. The worst is over for now, until I get on the plane tonight, so I'm just enjoying some quiet minutes with my girl. Well quiet except for the random sucking noises. She's discovered her hands and thinks that they taste really yummy!!! I can't find my memory card, otherwise I would post a picture, but it's pretty funny. She wants something to chew on, but she spits out her binkey and inserts her hands. Silly girl.
Hopefully I will have something more interesting than work to post about soon.

Mama I'm Comin' Home...
It has been such a long week! It was great to see some of my work friends that I only get to see once per year, but I will be so glad to get home. Even though I'm only staying there for two days, then I have to leave again. This sucks. :(

And I'm off like a prom dress . . .
Well, tomorrow I head out on my second business trip since Sasha was born. We'll see how it goes. Yeah, sure I'm going to DisneyWorld, but its no fun when you go by yourself.
Josh is staying home this time around. For one he is WAY too busy at work to take a week off, plus Sasha is still too little to take on a plane. At least I think she is. I just don't want to risk getting her sick. :( I'm so very sad to leave again, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. Besides, I'll be in meetings 95% of the time so it's not like I get to go out and enjoy the park much either.
Oh, and I think I might go back to school. Yes, I was extremely glad to graduate, but I think I need a change and I want to go back to school. I will most likely get a second BA in Journalism then maybe, MAYBE, get a masters in communications. We'll see. Looks like the Lakin family will never see the end of school!

4th Folder, 4th Picture
I was tagged by my friend A to do this . . .
Go to your pictures folder and open the 4th folder and the 4th picture in that folder and post it to your blog. Tell us about it.
This picture was taken on our trip to Astoria, Oregon last year (yes for all you children of the 80's- where the Goonies live). We went to the Maritime museum and I took a picture of ten things fishermen do for luck. Since you can't read them in the picture, here they are:
10- It's bad luck to leave for a fishing trip on a Friday
9- Rabbits or pigs should never be mentioned; they're bad luck
8- Never whistle on board; it calls up the wind
7- Never cook pea soup on board a fishing boat; it brings stormy weather
6- Don't take off the hatch cover until the first fish is landed
5- Never leave the hatch covers upside down
4- No suitcases on board; only farmers carry suitcases
3- Cans of food, or anything else, must be stored with labels right-side up, to keep the boat from capsizing. Upside down cans can also throw off the compass
2- A boat's bottom paint is better if applied by the light of the full moon
1- Fish bite best before a storm
Now I expect your next fishing trip to be a complete success!!!
Copy Cat
I got this tip from my friend Staci's blog and thought I should spread the news . . .
Hey bloggin' friends & stalkers! ;) I got an email from Blurb the other day saying that they have brought back their option to make a blog into a book (if you are using Blogger). They had taken it off their website a while ago and I was a little disappointed because I was planning on doing a book. I don't want this blog to go to waste. I have so many pictures and basically it's my journal, so I want to get a hard copy of it just in case the internet copy is suddenly gone one day. Anywho, I got this email the other day saying they are again open for business for Blogger! Can I get a woot woot?! So I have started my blog book! I'm excited! If you want to get one just head to their website - www.blurb.com and you'll have to download the Book Smart software. It didn't take too long to download. Then it "slurps" your blog into it and then you can edit your book and make it how you want it. As of now, mine is 300 some odd pages. Woah! But hold the phone people, Blurb is actually pretty affordable. For that many pages, it was only going to be like $63 or something. Sweet eh? I'm excited to get my blog book going & finished. Although, that just means I'll be spending even MORE time at my computer. But it's for a good cause right?

Realization!
I realized something very cool today. I have become a journaler. I have tried to keep journals in the past, but for some reason I could never keep at it for very long. I just never stuck with it. And yes, I scrapbook, but I'm falling way behind on that so it doesn't count. Plus I don't put the boring, mundane, day-to-day things in a scrapbook- just the stuff I take pictures of. But now that I have a blog, I think I can consider myself a journaler. When I first started this blog I didn't think I would update it that often. Little did I know how addicted I would become to it! Why is that? Maybe I like sharing things with you about my life. Maybe I like the fact that other people are reading this and are at least feigning interest in my life and what happens. I know that I am interested in your lives and the things you post on your blog. I check them sometimes three times a day! Thanks to the 'following' feature it takes me a lot less time to blog stalk you. But I have to tell you, I hate it when you go for long periods of time without posting anything. I know things are happening in your life and I want to know about them! I know I am guilty of the same thing from time to time, but I do my best. And even if you don't really care about what is happening in my life I'm still going to keep updating this blog. So sorry if it gets boring at times, or I gush about my kid too much. It's my life and this is what's happening in it. Thank you for reading, thank you for leaving comments and thank you for inviting me to your blog and allowing me a glimpse into your life. Even if we don't talk on the phone or face to face much, I feel like I am still close to you, even when our hectic and busy lives keep us physically apart.
2 month check up
We had the two month check up on Monday (sorry, I'm a little behind). Happy to report that everything is going well, Sasha is growing like a weed! Here are her stats:
23.5 inches tall (88%)
10 lbs. 6 oz. (45%)
Head is 15.5 in (69%)
A few people have commented that she looks older than two months. I can't really tell, I just think she's beautiful!

7. Who did you tell first? Josh, our parents and Cari
8. DID YOU WANT TO FIND OUT THE SEX? Of Course! How's a girl supposed to shop if she doesn't know what she's having!?
9. DUE DATE? Due Date was 11/27 but she didn't come until 12/1

Sunny St. George
We're Ba-ack!! We had a nice time down in sunny SG. It was around 60 degrees every day, the sun was out, no inversion and we didn't have any responsibilities. It was great! Sasha did awesome on the drive down and back. She's going to be a great road warrior like her mom and dad!
We got in late Thursday night since we left after work. Friday Josh and Chris worked out, Sasha and I bummed around with Howard and Lily for a while. Then we did a little shopping and went to the Dinosaur Tracks Site at Johnson Farm. It was pretty cool, I guess. Then Friday night we went to dinner with my dad and Joni to celebrate their birthdays. Of course we pick one of the busiest restaurants in SG- Texas Road House - but it was SO WORTH IT! The place was way crowded and the music was loud and the food was great- just perfect.
Saturday we drove around and looked at houses around SG. Howard and Lily - well really only Lily - want a winter home down there so we browsed a bit, but didn't find anything we just had to have. Then we had a yummy dinner at the Olive Garden. We drove home Sunday. We didn't leave until almost 3 so we missed most of the super bowl. I hear it was a pretty good game. We weren't really that invested in the game anyway.
Stupid me didn't pull out the camera for all of our adventures but we did take some pics before we left.
Sasha and Grandpa Don
Josh, G-Don, Sasha, me and Chris
Usually my dad is the one not smiling in pictures- this time it was Sasha. Let's not make that a habit, sweetheart!
Sweet little Sasha, enjoying the ride
Just chillin' in the back seat with my girl . . .
Our car was crammed full of stuff!!! There is definitely a lot more to take along with a little one. It used to be we would just throw in a couple of bags and be out the door. Not anymore!!! But we love our new little travel buddy. This was the back seat . . .
And this is the very back of the Jeep. I think we need a bigger car.

Our first family vacation!Chris has never been to In-N-Out Burger, so we HAD to stop for lunch before we hit the road. He enjoyed it.
Josh and Chris couldn't find the game on a decent radio station so they decided to watch a movie on the drive home. The sound on Josh's computer wasn't loud enough so they shared headphones. Look how sweet!Sweet little Sasha, enjoying the ride
